Riverside University High School
Lenzy was born in Gary, Indiana, but raised in Milwaukee where he started, stayed, and succeeded in Milwaukee Public Schools. However, he and his mom faced many challenges during his K-12 experience--from living in some of the roughest parts of the city, being considered economically disadvantaged, and having unstable home residences. Despite his adversity, he succeeded in school and went on to complete his undergraduate work at Marquette University. Primed for success with his mind set on supporting young people, Lenzy went on to teach at Hope Christian High School. He would later attain his Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee while serving as a Senior Impact Manager with City Year. While there, he led several diverse cohorts of 17-25 year olds through year-long commitments as tutors and mentors for MPS students. During his time with City Year, he was also part of the Building Beloved Community Leadership Fellowship through the Black and Latino Male Achievement Initiative in 2017. Currently, Lenzy is an English teacher for 12th graders at his alma mater Riverside University High School. Aside from his education and career, Lenzy is also a proud husband, father, and emerging entrepreneur. He continues to engage his passion through helping youth and young adults discover and activate their potential with the goal of constructing their own vision of success.
