Steven Radmer is a proud Alumnus from Milwaukee Hamilton High School, Class of '02.  Steven recently served as an Alumni Mentor speaking to the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council about "life after high school." He shared his journey from his high school days, to being an award-winning photojournalist for WISN-Milwaukee. "I'm happy! For the first time in a long time, I can say that. I have a beautiful wife who supports me in everything I do. Two amazing boys, who always welcome me home after a long day with their smile and energy. Work has always been supportive and keeps my mind sharp by making me think outside the box."  Steven won a regional Emmy award for his work at WISN and says that it has "been a highlight professionally." 

Steven's advice to those still in high school is to "stay focused! High school is a long road. There are so many distractions, but you need to try your best not to fall off."  At Hamilton , Steven had teachers who pushed him because they saw something special in him. "Even when I didn't believe in myself. they did!"  While at Hamilton, Steven took a production class, that's where, he says, that he found his love for the industry. The television production class at Hamilton helped him to get a paid position with a show called, "Making the Grade with Don Hoffman," while he was still attending school. 

Steven believes that students need to take care of themselves. Getting burned-out in school is very real. It's best to take it one day at a time. "I love to share my journey with others. If I can have an impact on someone else's career path, then I have done my job."

Steven would love to dip his toe in the music industry one day. "I want to win a Grammy!"
