"It’s an understatement to say that 2020 has been a tough year for everybody, especially for those who bear the heaviest burdens of the two pandemics we continue to face—COVID-19 and systemic racism. But throughout all of the pain and suffering and uncertainty of the last few months, I have been proud to witness people in communities across the state confront these challenges and step up to serve their communities. Whether you’re a health care worker helping people with COVID-19, an educator caring for our state’s young people, or an activist disrupting our status quo of grave inequity and injustice, I am deeply grateful for your sacrifices. The COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing atrocities committed against Black people in our state and country have brought to light some of the worst aspects of our society, but they have also revealed the best among us—the heroes that will move us toward a more just and equitable future."

Lieutenant governor of Wisconsin - Mandela Barnes

Year-round, first responders’ brave challenges so the rest of us may stay safe. In honor of their hard work and dedication, MPS Alumni would like to honor and celebrate these heroes for selflessly protecting and serving our communities. We honor the courage, commitment, and sacrifices of those in the fire service, law enforcement, and emergency medical services (EMS) communities, as well as our nation’s public servants. Join us in celebrating the Alumni “heroes among us” during these crucial times in our lives.
