Summer will be here before we know it! Sign up now to make the most of summer and start strong in fall. MPS has summer programs for students in K5 through grade 12. Summer programs are free for students living in the city of Milwaukee; students outside the city of Milwaukee can attend by paying a fee.
Families will have a choice of virtual or in-person learning. Students who attend in person receive free breakfast and lunch.
Elementary students (K5—grade 8) can take part in a six-week summer learning camp. Each week has a different theme including American Sign Language, art, math, science, social studies, and more. Grades 7 and 8 will focus on forensic science and medical careers. Summer Academy Exploration Camps will be held June 22–July 29 (six weeks). No classes on July 5. K5–grade 8 students attend Monday–Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
Middle school students have a number of summer options. Students entering grade 6 can attend Summer Academy Exploration Camps (see the Elementary description above). Middle schoolers can also attend Career Exploration programs. Students entering grade 9 have access to many of the available high school programs. Dates and times vary by program.
High school students can enroll in credit recovery to repeat a class or can get ahead by taking a new course. Options are available in English language arts, French, math, physical education, science, Spanish, and more.
